Juanita Rose Violini grew up in Banff Alberta and lived there off and on between 1958 and 1992. She began exhibiting in the mid 1980s and has had art pieces in gallery shows in Lethbridge, Banff, Calgary, and Canmore Alberta and Invermere BC. Other art related projects include set design for theme nights, teaching art camp to kids and self publishing a children’s book to watercolour.
1987 Juanita received a Banff Centre of Fine Arts Scholarship for ‘All That Glitters’ summer course.
In 1989 she was offered employment in the visual arts department at the Banff Centre, but turned it down to travel Europe with a rock and roll band. After a long hiatus during which Juanita concentrated on writing and producing corporate murder mystery entertainment in Vancouver, BC, she is again turning her attention to the visual arts.
Juanita Rose Violini’s first book, Almanac of the Infamous, the Incredible and the Ignored has been published by Weiser Books, San Francisco. The book, detailing a year of daily mysteries, is accompanied by 365 illustrations, drawn by Juanita.
