Richard Berry is a professional photographer based in Canmore, AB where he lives with his wife Audrey and their daughters Erin and Kendra.
His work includes commercial photography, portraits and stock photography, however he specializes in two areas; nature photography and teaching photography.
Richard is known for his dramatic panoramas. These large limited edition prints have become collectors items and new panoramas often sell out. In recent years Richard has also become a wildlife photographer and he really enjoys the challenges that wildlife photography brings.
Richard’s teaching experience is extensive. Prior to him becoming a professional photographer, Richard taught engineers in Nigeria and he was also a flying instructor in Scotland. Richard has taught photography on four continents and he recently founded “Photography Classes Canada” which aims to teach people across Canada how to take great photographs with a basic camera.

As well as teaching a wide variety of photography subjects such as Adobe Photoshop, nature photography and flash photography, Richard has taught a wide variety of students. He has mentored grade 8 students, taught seniors as well as many professional photographers. Some of Richard’s students have become professional photographers in their own right.
Richard has also taught photography for prestigious organizations such as Rocky Mountaineer Trains, Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise, ‘The Camera Store’ in Calgary and The Banff Centre. He is also a regular contributor to Canada’s leading photography magazine; Photolife and he teaches regularly at the Bow Valley College.
Richard is an accredited member of the Professional Photographers of Canada (PPOC).
